Richard Tse's biography:
Richard Tse was born in Indonesia and grew up in Hong Kong. He moved to Canada at the age of 18 and has since divided his life into two distinct parts.
The first part of his life was marked by stability and predictability. He attended the University of Toronto, majoring in Computer Science, and worked as an IT professional in various financial and insurance companies for 15 years. Despite enjoying the stability of his life and work, Richard felt that something was missing. He needed to be challenged and express himself to the world.
Richard's passion for performing arts had always been present, and he decided to make a drastic change in his life. He started taking acting lessons from various teachers in Toronto, including Miriam Laurence, and landed roles in television commercials, films, and television shows.
In 2001, Richard participated in the musical 'Iron Road', which won a Dora award for Best New Musical. His performance in the Summerworks Festival play 'Pu-Erh' in 2005 solidified his desire to become a serious actor, with NOW Magazine describing his work as 'nuanced performance'. He continued to excel in his acting career, receiving recognition for his outstanding ensemble performance in the Summerworks Festival play 'Jasmine' in 2007.
In 2008, Richard collaborated with director Weigo Lee and veteran actor Liu Kai Chi on the stage production of 'Tuesdays with Morrie' in Cantonese. The production was a huge success in the Toronto Chinese Community.
Aside from acting, Richard has also pursued his passion for singing. He has taken singing lessons from various coaches, including Brandon Brophy, and has been the lead vocalist of the top-rated band 'Dynasty Music Group' in the Chinese community. He has performed with the group in several cities across North America, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Reno, Atlantic City, Chicago, Boston, Ottawa, and Hamilton.
Richard has also executive-produced and starred in the short film 'Embedded', which has been shown in the film festival circuit.
