Rimi Sen, a renowned Indian actress, has made a significant impact in the Bollywood film industry. Born as Shubhomitra Sen in Kolkata, West Bengal, she completed her schooling from the prestigious Bidya Bharati Girls' High School in the year 1998. She then pursued her graduation in Commerce from the University of Calcutta. Moreover, she trained in the ancient Odissi dance form under the guidance of the esteemed Guru Aloka Kanungo, a prominent Odissi exponent from Kolkata.
As a child, Sen nurtured a deep passion for acting, which led her to pursue her dreams. After completing her education, she convinced her mother to accompany her to Mumbai, where she faced numerous challenges in her quest for success. Despite the lack of encouragement from her family members, except for her grandfather, Sen persevered and eventually landed her first commercial gig, a Coca-Cola advertisement featuring Aamir Khan. Her impressive performance in the ad caught the attention of filmmakers, and she soon received her first film offers.
Sen made her lead acting debut in the Telugu movie Nee Thodu Kavali, followed by her Hindi film debut in Vijay Galani's Hungama in 2003. The comedy film, which starred Akshay Khanna, Aftab Shivdasani, Paresh Rawal, and other notable actors, marked a significant milestone in her career. She went on to appear in several big-budget movies, including Dhoom (2004),Garam Masala (2005),and Golmaal (2006). Additionally, she made a cameo appearance in the 2006 film Dhoom 2 and starred alongside newcomer Neil Nitin Mukesh in Johnny Gaddaar. In 2008, she appeared in De Taali, and in 2009, she was seen in Sankat City.
