Biography

Rob Hardy is a renowned filmmaker and television director who has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. He rose to prominence with his directorial debut on the Emmy Award-winning show ER in January 2007. This achievement was followed by being listed among the Top 40 Entertainers under 40 by Black Enterprise Magazine in 2008.

Hardy's early career began with the camcorder-shot movie G-Man while still in high school. He later pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Florida A&M University, where he made the transition to film with the low-budget motion picture Chocolate City. This experience earned him the Bernard Hendricks Student Leadership Award and led to the establishment of his production company, Rainforest Films.

Hardy's subsequent projects include directing and co-writing the thriller Trois, which became the fastest Independent African American film to pass the $1 million dollar mark. He also directed the critically acclaimed thriller Pandora's Box and produced Motives, which earned him a nomination for Best Screenplay at the Black Movie Awards.

In addition to his work in film, Hardy has also made a significant impact in television. He has directed episodes of popular shows such as Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, starring Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, and The Vampire Diaries, Bones, 90210, and Heroes.

Hardy has received numerous accolades for his work, including the Meritorious Achievement Award from Florida A&M University and the Woody Strode/Paul Robeson Award of Excellence from his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He has also been recognized as one of the Top 25 Money Makers in Entertainment by Black Enterprise Magazine.

Hardy has continued to work on various projects, including feature films such as This Christmas, Obsessed, and Takers, as well as reality television shows like Sprite Step Off for MTV2. He has also directed commercial projects for clients such as CNN, TBS, American Honda, Coca-Cola, Georgia Lottery, and The National Cancer Institute.

Hardy serves on the Advisory Board for the International Feature Project (IFP) Film Lab series and resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife and son.
