Rob was born in Napier, New Zealand, and is proud of his New Zealand Maori heritage, specifically his affiliations with the Ngati Maru and Ngati Raukawa tribes.
With a career spanning over 15 years, Rob has established himself as a talented and versatile actor in the Australasian region. His early work included appearances in various New Zealand TV productions, such as Shortland Street, The Brokenwood Mysteries, Find Me A Maori Bride, Nothing Trivial, and Korero Mai.
Rob's film credits include Consent, The Deadlands, and Waru. However, it was his role in the popular TV series 800 Words that really catapulted him to a wider Trans-Tasman audience.
Following his success in 800 Words, Rob's popularity continued to soar as he was cast in the long-running TV series Home and Away as Ari Parata, a Maori father figure seeking a better life in Australia. This role was significant as it marked the first time a Maori cultural lens was used in an Australian television series, and it resonated with audiences.
In addition to his acting career, Rob is also making a name for himself as a producer of Pacifika meditation music, collaborating with renowned artists such as Opetaia Foa'i, the award-winning composer behind Disney's Moana movie.
