Rob Romero was born in Rockford, Illinois, to Higinio and Josephine Romero, and was one of eight children. As a child, he would often accompany his mother to the movies, and this sparked his dream of one day being on screen. Despite feeling like an outcast among his peers, Rob found solace in the movies, and his shyness was a significant part of his life.
However, everything changed when he met his future wife, Lori, in 1991. She was instrumental in helping him overcome his shyness, encouraging him to take on a leadership role at his jobs as a forklift driver and air package employee. After being promoted to supervisor at both companies, Rob's shyness began to dissipate, and he started to explore his passion for acting.
Rob's first foray into acting came in 1994, when his sister-in-law approached him about helping her with a school class project, a commercial called "Robbie's Baby Bath System." This project earned an "A" grade, and Rob's confidence continued to grow. In 2003, while working as a Safety Supervisor, Rob wrote, directed, and acted in various safety videos for the Rockford UPS Air ramp facility.
Rob is a devoted father of five children, including his biological child and four children he proudly adopted from the foster care system. His journey as an actor continued in 2010, when he met filmmaker Travis Legge via social media and landed a role as a zombie in the short film "Widdershins." Rob's first speaking role was in another Travis Legge film, "Holiday Carvings," in which he played the cannibal Daddy alongside actress Deneen Melody.
Through social media, Rob has connected with numerous filmmakers and actors, and has continued to meet new and exciting people. Besides acting, Rob has co-written and starred in the film "Cofax," and is well-known for his work in casting and producing independent films. In 2013, he co-founded R&B Innerloop productions with Richard Bunch, and their first feature film, "Fraternal Nightmares," is scheduled for release in 2014-2015.
Rob's daughter, Lexie, has followed in her father's footsteps and is also an aspiring actress and model.
