Robb Wells, a talented individual, was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, and later relocated to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, at the age of eight. His father, a renowned Forensic Expert with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP),played a significant role in shaping Robb's early life.
Growing up, Robb attended high school with two future collaborators, Mike Clattenberg and John Paul Tremblay. The trio shared a peculiar sense of humor, often engaging in practical jokes and getting into mischief. This eccentricity would later influence their creative endeavors.
As adults, Robb and Tremblay operated a successful chain of pizza restaurants, J.R. Capone's, while simultaneously pursuing their passion for filmmaking. In 1998, they created a short film, One Last Shot, featuring the talented John Dunsworth, which garnered awards for Best Actor and Best Cinematography.
The following year, they co-created a mockumentary film, Trailer Park Boys, which introduced newcomers Patrick Roach, Mike Jackson, Cory Bowles, Lucy Decoutere, and Jeanne Harrison to the world. During the filming process, they met sound mixer Mike Smith, who would later become an integral part of the project.
After the film's completion, Robb, Tremblay, and Smith secured a deal with Showcase to adapt Trailer Park Boys into a television series, with Smith serving as the sound mixer. This marked the beginning of the beloved characters' journey, including the lovable Bubbles, who would become an integral part of the show.
Today, Robb Wells, John Paul Tremblay, and Mike Smith are celebrated Canadian television icons, with their work on Trailer Park Boys leaving a lasting impact on the industry.
