Robert Bagnell, also affectionately referred to as "Bags", is a renowned American actor, most notably recognized for his series regular role as Tom Peterman in the groundbreaking HBO cult comedy "The Comeback", starring the talented Lisa Kudrow.
Furthermore, Robert has also had the privilege of sharing the screen with esteemed actors Jon Hamm and Mel Gibson in Randall Wallace's film adaptation of the critically acclaimed novel "We Were Soldiers Once And Young".
Born and raised in East Northport, Long Island, New York, alongside his only sister Diane Bagnell-Maguire, Robert's mother was a dedicated registered nurse, while his father was a high school chemistry teacher. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in undergraduate drama in 1996 from the prestigious Tisch School Of The Arts at New York University.
After graduating, Robert secured talent representation following his impressive performance in a comedy play alongside his NYU cronies at the Westbeth Theater in New York City's West Village in 1996. Concurrently, he worked as a rink guard at the iconic Rockefeller Center Ice Skating Rink and as a Night Manager at the Inn At Irving Place in Gramercy Park, New York City.
On his very first professional audition, Robert had the opportunity to audition for the legendary Liza Minnelli, who was producing the play "Not A Well Woman". He ultimately booked the job, which marked the beginning of his successful acting career. He then went on to appear in numerous TV commercials and landed his first recurring TV role on the popular daytime soap opera "As The World Turns".
