Biography

Robert H. Gwinn was born in Oxnard, California, where his early aspirations to become a filmmaker were initially thwarted by his father's injury in 1976, forcing his mother to work full-time. Struggling to make ends meet in southern California's turbulent market in the late 1970s, the family relocated to Yuma, Arizona in 1980.

Robert's mother, recognizing his creative potential, encouraged him to explore writing, a new passion that quickly became an integral part of his life. His teachers and friends were impressed by his stories, and he soon discovered a love for theater, becoming actively involved in high school drama.

At the tender age of 15, Robert took on the lead role in Tennessee Williams' "The Long Goodbye," earning the attention of Professor Gerald Giss, a renowned expert in theater and speech. In 1991, Robert attended Arizona Western College on a full theater scholarship, where he performed in over a dozen shows during the next four years.

His impressive repertoire included notable roles such as Bob Cratchit in "A Christmas Carol," Jud Fry in "Oklahoma," Stanley Jerome in "Brighton Beach Memoirs," and Charles Dalrimple in "Brigadoon."

Following his father's passing from complications related to prostate cancer in 2002, Robert rededicated himself to his creative pursuits. He enrolled at the Art Institute of Las Vegas, initially pursuing animation before switching to visual effects, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics in 2007.

After returning to Yuma in 2008 to be closer to his family, Robert collaborated with Charles Pisaeno to produce the indie suspense thriller "Renovation" in 2010.
