In the year 1996, a significant event took place in the life of Bob as he entered into a union with his loving wife, a renowned actress who had previously gained fame for her role on the iconic television series "The Love Boat" which premiered in 1977.
It seemed that Bob's life was moving along smoothly, with no apparent signs of distress, until 1997 when he suddenly began to feel fatigued while engaged in a theatrical performance. This unexpected development was followed by another unexpected incident in which he struggled to pronounce a word during an audition for a radio commercial, leading the producer to mistakenly believe that he was under the influence of alcohol.
As the months went by, Bob's health continued to deteriorate, and in January of the following year, he received a devastating diagnosis from his medical professionals. He was told that he had been afflicted with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a progressive and incurable neurological disease also commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, named after the legendary baseball player who had been diagnosed with the condition in the 1940s.
