Robert F. "Bobby" Roode, Jr. is a Canadian professional wrestler who has made a significant impact in the world of wrestling, particularly with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). He initially debuted in TNA in 2004 as a member of Team Canada, and went on to achieve great success as a tag team wrestler, partnering with Eric Young to become a two-time NWA World Tag Team Champion.
In 2008, Roode formed the tag team Beer Money, Inc. with James Storm, and the two of them went on to achieve an impressive streak of four-time TNA World Tag Team Champions, while also setting a record for the longest reign as champions. This remarkable achievement is a testament to their skill and dedication as a tag team.
In September 2011, Roode achieved his first major singles accomplishment in TNA by winning the Bound for Glory Series, earning the right to challenge for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. He went on to win the title the following month, and would hold it for an impressive 256 days, becoming the longest reigning TNA World Heavyweight Champion in history.
Roode's early life was marked by a strong interest in sports, particularly hockey. He attended Kenner Collegiate H.S. in Peterborough, Ontario, and was a stick boy for the Ontario Hockey League's Peterborough Petes, where he had the opportunity to work with notable future NHL players such as Tie Domi, Mike Ricci, and Chris Pronger.
