Rob was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1976, and his early years were marked by a rambunctious and highly energetic youth. His life took an unexpected turn on a fateful day in May 1988, when the casting crew for the 1990 film "Lord of the Flies" arrived at his middle school for a casting call.
Initially, Rob saw this as a welcome respite from the confines of the classroom, little did he know that his audition would capture the attention of the director or that he would land a role in a major motion picture just two weeks later.
The subsequent opportunity to film on location in Jamaica for five months was a life-changing experience that would remain among the most remarkable of his life.
Despite the role not leading to any subsequent opportunities at the time, the experience of acting in a film and being part of a movie production would have a lasting impact on him.
With his education as his primary focus, Rob attended Boston's Catholic Memorial High School, followed by Boston College, where he majored in economics.
His academic pursuits culminated in his graduation in 1999, after which he has dedicated himself to a career in finance.
