Roberto Bentivegna, a multifaceted individual, was born in London to Italian parents. His early life was marked by a unique blend of Italian and British influences, as he spent his formative years in both Milan and London.
Roberto's academic pursuits took him to Emerson College in Boston, where he honed his skills before furthering his education at Columbia University. It was during his time at Columbia that he received numerous prestigious awards and fellowships, including the Carla Kuhn fellowship, the Hollywood Foreign Press Award, the Alfred P. Sloan Screenwriting award, and the Faculty Selects for his short film "A Day in March". He was also a finalist in the Academy's Nicholl Fellowship.
Roberto's short films have gained international recognition, screening at esteemed festivals such as Locarno, Atlanta, and Miami. His work is distributed by prominent companies like Film Movement and Shorts International.
As a screenwriter, Roberto has collaborated with acclaimed professionals, including photographer Albert Watson on "Shella" and director Lynne Ramsay on an adaptation of A.M.
