Biography

Robin van Persie, a Dutch coach and former professional footballer, was born on August 6, 1983. He is widely regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation, and is one of the all-time top scorers for the Netherlands men's national team.

Van Persie began his senior career with Feyenoord in the 2001-2002 season, which culminated in the team's victory in the 2002 UEFA Cup Final. He was also named the Dutch Football Talent of the Year during this period.

After five years with Feyenoord, Van Persie fell out with manager Bert van Marwijk and joined English club Arsenal in 2004 for £2.75 million. At Arsenal, he won the 2004 FA Community Shield and the 2004-2005 FA Cup, and set a club record with 35 goals in the 2011 season.

Van Persie was also the club captain for the 2011-2012 season before joining rivals Manchester United in July 2012. During his first season with Manchester United, he won the 2012-2013 Premier League and finished as the league's top scorer with 26 goals, winning his second consecutive Premier League Golden Boot award.

However, Van Persie struggled with injuries in the following two seasons and fell out of favor with Manchester United. He was allowed to leave the club in July 2015 and joined Fenerbahçe in Turkey.

During his time with Fenerbahçe, Van Persie featured regularly in his first season, but saw his playing time limited in the following two campaigns due to injuries. He eventually agreed to a buyout with the club in January 2018 and rejoined his boyhood team Feyenoord on a free transfer.

By the end of the season, Van Persie had helped Feyenoord win the Dutch Cup, his first trophy since the 2013 FA Community Shield.

At the international level, Van Persie made his senior debut for the Netherlands in 2005 and has since earned over 100 caps and scored 50 goals for the team. He has represented the Netherlands at the 2006, 2010, and 2014 FIFA World Cups, as well as the 2008 and 2012 UEFA European Championships.
