Born in 1938 at Twickenham, England, this talented individual began their journey in the world of dance at the tender age of six, taking lessons with Kate Walker at Weybridge. As they grew, their passion for dance only intensified, leading them to migrate to Sydney, Australia with their parents in 1949.
In Sydney, they continued their dance training at Estelle Anderson's dance studio, laying the foundation for a long and illustrious career. In 1955, they landed their first dance contract with JC Williamson's musical "CanCan", which toured Australia and New Zealand for an impressive 18 months.
Over the next few years, they appeared in numerous plays, including Alice in Wonderland, The Willow Pattern Plate, and Hey Diddle Diddle. As their career continued to blossom, they began to make a name for themselves in television, appearing in a variety of specials and shows.
In 1965, they made history by becoming the first weather girl at GTV9, a role that would cement their place in Australian television history. They continued to appear in variety shows in Australia and Canada, and in 1964, they starred as Shirley Muggleton in the television series "Barley Charlie".
Their television career spanned decades, with appearances in shows such as Number 96, Arcade, G.P., Gotcha, Going Home, Home and Away, and All Saints. One of their most iconic roles came in 1967, when they played the role of Madge the Manicurist in a series of Palmolive detergent commercials, which made them an Aussie television icon.
Throughout their career, this individual has been recognized for their outstanding contributions to the arts, particularly in dance. In 2011, they were awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia 'For service to the arts, particularly through dance.'
