Ron Balicki's journey in the entertainment industry began as a stuntman and fight/stunt coordinator, but his path was paved by his childhood in Chicago, where he grew up training in martial arts for over 35 years. His in-depth study of the subject led him to seek out the legendary martial artist, Dan Inosanto, with whom he trained and eventually earned full instructorships in various martial arts disciplines, including Bruce Lee's Jun Fan Gung Fu, Maphilindo Silat, and Filipino Kali.
In 1987, Ron became a Cook County Deputy Sheriff, stationed in Chicago, Illinois, where he helped form the Cook County Sheriff's Special Operations Resistance Team (S.O.R.T.),a team of officers trained to handle riot control. During this time, he also began working as a bodyguard for various Hollywood movie and music stars, traveling to Japan and Indonesia to train and compete in no-holds-barred fighting tournaments.
As a professional Shoot Wrestler, Ron has competed numerous times in Japan and America, earning instructorships in Thai Boxing, Savate, Lameco Escrima, Wing Chun Gung Fu, Latigo y daga, and Shoot Wrestling. His expertise has made him a sought-after instructor, with military, DEA, SWAT, FBI, Homeland Security, law enforcement agencies from around the world, and anti-terrorist groups seeking him out for his teaching skills.
Ron is also a prolific writer, having authored numerous articles for magazines worldwide and penning his own bestselling book on Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do. He has produced a widely respected series of martial arts training videos and has stunt-coordinated several films. Ron's stunt work has included fights, car crashes, ratchets, air rams, high falls, and full-body burns.
Currently, Ron and his wife, Diana Lee Inosanto, along with their manager, Tarik Heitmann, have started their own production company, Zen Mountain LLC. Their first film, "The Sensei," has completed post-production.
