Ron Wolotzky, a renowned and accomplished producer, boasts an impressive resume, having earned an ACE Award for his work on the critically acclaimed "Dream On" series on HBO. His educational background is equally impressive, having graduated from the prestigious UCLA Film School. Additionally, he spent two years in the MFA program at UCLA, where he received a scholarship from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Prior to attending film school, Wolotzky's passion for the performing arts led him to pursue a career in child acting, where he honed his skills in a children's theater. Upon completing his education, he went on to write, produce, and direct two short films, "Yasha" and "Honey".
Wolotzky's professional career took off with the production and editing of the indie feature film "The Deception of Benjamin Steiner", a film noir that premiered at Filmex and garnered international recognition. His subsequent projects included producing and editing the Showtime series "Home Fires" and the American Playhouse and Skouras Films production "In A Shallow Grave".
As a Line Producer, Wolotzky worked on HBO's "Vietnam War Stories", which ultimately led to his role as producer and director on the hit series "Dream On". During his tenure on the show, he directed numerous episodes, including the season opener of the final season and the emotional series finale.
Following "Dream On", Wolotzky directed the USA series "Campus Cops" and produced several pilots for both networks and cable channels, such as "Clueless" for Paramount/ABC, "MYOB" for NBC, "World Gone Mad" and "Love and Madness" for HBO. He also served as 2nd Unit Director on the feature film "Red Nights".
As Head of Production and Development at Newmark Films, Wolotzky produced the quirky thriller "Dry Cycle". His recent film, "Greed", marks his feature directing debut.
