Rosanne Sorrentino, a talented individual, was born on January 15, 1968, in Oceanside, Long Island, New York. Her journey in the world of entertainment began in 1980-81 when she made her professional stage debut in the 3rd National Tour of Annie, taking on the iconic role of Annie.
However, her fascination with acting started earlier, in 1976, when she played a schoolgirl in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts's summer workshop production of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. This experience, under the guidance of Jay Presson Allen, the wife of Lewis Allen, one of Annie's producers, sparked her passion for acting.
Rosanne's love for singing was nurtured under the direction of her school music teacher, Liz Costa, at Lindenhurst Senior High School. She was an active member of her school chorus and also part of the Charles Street Players in Lindenhurst High School, where she had the opportunity to portray the role of Grizabella in their rendition of Cats.
Although she received widespread critical acclaim for her stage portrayal of Annie, she was deemed too old at the age of 13 to be cast as Annie in the film adaptation. Undeterred, Rosanne auditioned for and was subsequently offered the role of Pepper, the oldest and bossiest orphan, which she accepted.
