Rosemary Radcliffe, a multifaceted Canadian talent, has made a lasting impact in the entertainment industry as a comic actress, writer, composer, and painter.
Born and raised in Toronto, Radcliffe graduated from Ryerson College, setting the stage for her television career, which began with a stint on Sunday Morning at CBLT Toronto.
Throughout her career, Radcliffe has primarily based her work in Canada, with a few notable exceptions.
In the 1970s, Radcliffe's talents were showcased in various cabaret and theatre productions across Canada, followed by an appearance in the off-Broadway production of Leonard Cohen's Sisters of Mercy.
In 1974, she joined The Second City comedy troupe, performing in both Toronto and Chicago. From 1975 to 1978, Radcliffe starred as the title character in the popular CBC Television children's show Coming Up Rosie.
The 1980s saw Radcliffe tour Canada with two revivals of the classic revue Spring Thaw, and in 1982, she composed the musical show Skin Deep, which won the Eric Harvie award for best new Canadian musical and was presented at the Charlottetown Festival.
Radcliffe also spent a season starring as Tina, the sweetheart of the King of Kensington, opposite Al Waxman on the popular CBLT television series.
In addition to her numerous credits, Radcliffe created the role of Mrs. Barry in Kevin Sullivan's successful series Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Green Gables: the Sequel, and Anne of Green Gables, The Continuing Story, a role she played over the course of three decades.
