Born in the charming town of Stratford Upon Avon, Rowland's early years were filled with the vibrant energy of London Islington, where he spent his formative years before the family made the move to the picturesque town of Marlborough. It was there, at the tender age of 13, that he won a prestigious music scholarship to Marlborough College, marking the beginning of his journey in the world of music and performance.
As he grew older, Rowland's passion for the arts only intensified, leading him to train as an actor/musican and musical director at the renowned Rose Bruford College. However, after graduating, he made the decision to pivot his focus towards acting and singing, a move that would ultimately shape the trajectory of his career.
Rowland's early professional endeavors took him to the Nottingham Playhouse and Lancaster Playhouse, where he honed his craft and gained valuable experience. His big break came when he landed a musical role in the critically acclaimed production of Rosencrantz and Guildernstern are Dead at the prestigious Royal National Theatre. Working alongside esteemed directors Steven Pimlott and Matthew Francis, Rowland's talent and dedication earned him recognition and respect within the industry.
In addition to his impressive stage credits, Rowland has also made a name for himself in the world of film. He plays the lead villain, Colonel Roderick, in the feature film My Pet Dinosaur (2017),directed by the talented Matt Drummond. This role cemented his status as a versatile and accomplished performer, capable of bringing depth and nuance to a wide range of characters.
