Roxanne Arlen, born Roxanne Giles, was a former "Miss Detroit" and WAMPAS Baby Star of 1956, who made a name for herself as a sexy second lead in B-movies and TV episodes during the 1950s and 1960s.
As a teenager, Roxanne began her acting training, taking nightly drama classes at Wayne State University. She was later dubbed "The Wiggle" due to a trademark walk she claimed to have developed at grade school, which she found herself unable to shake.
Roxanne's early roles were mostly bit parts, where she played decorative characters such as unnamed "girls", "models", or "blondes". However, she made a breakthrough on the stage, starring in the comedy "Who Was That Lady I Saw You With?", written by Norman Krasna.
The play premiered in Philadelphia and later opened on Broadway in March 1958, running for a respectable 208 performances. Despite this success, Roxanne remained typecast as dumb blondes with easy ways and names like Flo, Dixie, or Bootsie for the remainder of her screen career.
Roxanne retired from the screen in 1967 and was last seen recreating her screen role as Electra in the stage production of Gypsy in Miami in May 1970.
