Ryan Begay, a proud Diné individual, embarked on a remarkable journey after serving in the US Air Force. His passion for filmmaking was ignited during his time at the Colorado Film School in Denver, Colorado, where he discovered his calling. He then pursued his BFA in New Media Art at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, further solidifying his artistic foundation.
As a multifaceted creative, Ryan has written and directed numerous short films, music videos, and public service announcements, consistently working behind the camera. However, in 2011, he discovered a newfound passion for acting, which led him to appear in various short films. It wasn't until he starred in "Blaze You Out" (2011) that he realized his love for the film industry extended beyond directing.
Since then, Ryan has continued to hone his acting skills, performing in both independent and big-budget feature films, as well as notable television series. Alongside his acting pursuits, he remains dedicated to writing, directing, and developing ideas that promote a stronger Diné/Native American presence in film and television, both in front of and behind the camera.
