Ryan is a talented British-German stage and screen actor who has honed his craft at the renowned Drama Centre London. His impressive resume boasts a range of notable roles, including the Netflix series "The Queen's Gambit" (2020),directed by Scott Frank, and the Netflix series "How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)" (2019),as well as the upcoming film "Was wir fürchten" (2023),opposite Dar Salim, and "Spencer" (2021),starring Kristen Stewart, directed by Pablo Larraín.
With extensive experience in German television, Ryan has appeared in various roles on shows such as "Notruf Hafenkante" (2007),"Rookies" (2020),and "Großstadtrevier" (1986). He was also part of the original cast of the German TV Sketch Comedy "Die unwahrscheinlichen Ereignisse im Leben von..." (2014).
Ryan's early career began on the British stage, where he performed in productions of Shakespeare's works, including "King Lear" in London, where he played the iconic role of The Fool. He has also appeared in numerous productions at the award-winning Arcola Theatre London, including the hit comedy "Clarion", which received rave reviews from publications such as the Guardian, Times, and Evening Standard.
In 2018, Ryan joined the ensemble of the Berlin-based theatre sitcom "Gutes Wedding, Schlechtes Wedding", and in 2021, he began writing, directing, and starring in the show, as well as regularly performing on stage.
Throughout his career, Ryan's love for the stage has remained a constant, and he continues to return to it with enthusiasm. As a writer, Ryan has co-created several short films, including the satire "The Water Sommelier" (2021),which he co-wrote, co-directed, and starred in, and which has won numerous awards, including "BEST COMEDY" at the Oakland Shortfilm Festival, USA.
