Bennett is a multifaceted creative professional, predominantly excelling as a writer, director, and producer. His journey in the film industry began at the tender age of 7, when he watched the iconic film "Jaws" in his local Odeon cinema. The memorable scene where Ben Gardner's head emerges from the boat, causing the audience to jump in surprise, sparked Bennett's desire to elicit simultaneous reactions from a group of people.
Fast-forward to age 12, when Bennett had the opportunity to watch the groundbreaking science fiction film "Blade Runner". This cinematic masterpiece revealed to him the importance of a director's role in creating believable and immersive worlds. This realization had a profound impact on Bennett, inspiring him to pursue a career in filmmaking.
At the age of 17, Bennett entered the film industry, working both in front and behind the camera. His early roles include Will Scarlett in the final installment of the popular television series "Blackadder", alongside Rik Mayall's Robin Hood and Kate Moss' Maid Marian, as well as William Morris for the BBC.
Bennett's directing credits include the highly successful music promo for the remix of Queen's "Flash Gordon", which led to the creation of the award-winning short film "Devilwood". This success ultimately led to his debut feature film "Tuesday", marking the beginning of a prolific career as a writer and director.
Since then, Bennett has written and directed eight feature films in eight years, working on a wide range of projects that span genres, from horror to Shakespeare, and from independent films to studio productions. His work has been commissioned by prominent studios and networks, including Universal, Paramount, Sony, BBC, and HBO.
In 2015, Bennett co-founded the production company Three Wise Monkeys, which has produced its first feature film, "Tango One", for Universal UK. As a full voting member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA),Bennett is represented by Casarotto Ramsay Associates.
