Sally Jackson, a multifaceted individual, was born and raised in the vast expanse of West Texas. Her academic journey took her to four esteemed institutions: The University of Kansas, Southwest Texas State, The University of Texas, and Trinity University. She pursued a dual major in Art and English, laying the foundation for her future endeavors.
After completing her fourth year of college, Sally made the bold move to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she embarked on a career in theater as a stage manager. It was during this period that she crossed paths with Godfrey Reggio, the renowned director of "The Institute For Regional Education," and joined the crew of the critically acclaimed documentary film, "Koyannisquattsi." This experience kindled her passion for filmmaking.
As major motion pictures began to flood the state of New Mexico, Sally worked as an Extras Casting Director for numerous legendary directors, as showcased in her filmography. She astutely recognized the immense talent pool in the state and initiated efforts to persuade LA casting directors to review tapes of local actors for roles previously cast out of the Los Angeles area.
After several years of instrumental casting on big-budget films, Sally requested a new credit as Location Casting Director, thereby coining the phrase. Between film projects, she honed her acting skills under the guidance of the illustrious Lawrence Parke, owner and writer of "Acting World Books," and fondly remembered in Los Angeles as "The StarMaker."
Currently, Sally holds the position of Location Casting Director for Cruise/Wagner, coaches young Hollywood elite for major films and pilot leads, reads scripts for one of the most respected producers in the business, and performs stand-up comedy at esteemed venues such as "The Improv," "The Comedy Store," "The Ha Ha," and "The Acme Theater." Her acting resume can be found in "The Players Guide." With her motto, "Onward through the fog," Sally continues to navigate her multifaceted career with unwavering dedication.
