Sam Boxleitner was born in Los Angeles, California, to a family deeply rooted in the entertainment industry. From a young age, he was drawn to the idea of pursuing a career in show business, just like his parents, Bruce Boxleitner and Kathryn Holcomb Ogilvy, who are both actors. His father, Bruce, is a well-known actor, and his step-father, Ian Ogilvy, is also an actor. Sam's siblings, Lee Boxleitner, Michael Boxleitner, and Dakota Brinkman, are also actors, making the entertainment industry a family affair.
Sam attended Chaminade College Preparatory in Los Angeles, where he excelled in the arts, particularly in drama and music. He starred in several plays and small film roles, which eventually led him to make the decision to put acting on hold and focus on music. Sam then attended Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, where he earned a commercial certificate in contemporary composition and guitar.
For nearly a decade, Sam dedicated himself to composing music and touring with various bands across the country. However, after a long and grueling tour, he decided to take a break and landed a job as a runner, which eventually led to a position as a set production assistant. It was during this time that Sam caught the acting bug and made the decision to pursue a career in front of the camera. He has since been unstoppable.
In 2014, Sam and his brother Lee produced the short film "Downstairs," which received widespread acclaim and was screened at several prominent film festivals, including Screamfest Horror Film Festival, Dark Scream Film Festival, and Monsterpalooza.
In addition to his work in film, Sam also composes, produces, and performs original music under the moniker Analog Is Dead. His music can be found on all major streaming sites and online music stores.
