Sam Egan, an Emmy-nominated Writer/Producer, has had a distinguished career in the television industry. Most recently, he has been the Creative Consultant for Shaw's Canadian Sci-Fi series "Continuum", as well as the Developer for Television of Robert Rotenburg's "Old City Hall" for CTV.
Currently, Egan is consulting on Shaw TV's "Beloved Mr. Fox" with its creator Alexander McCall Smith, author of the "First Ladies Detective Agency" series. He has also been involved in developing the internet series "The Node" for Trifecta productions, as well as "State of Syn" for Shaftesbury Films.
Egan's impressive resume includes his work as Executive Producer/Showrunner of Season Two of the Listener for CTV and FOX International, as well as Creative Consultant for Season Three. Prior to that, he was Co-Executive Producer of ABC's "V" and Executive Producer of "Sanctuary" for the Sci Fi Channel.
He has also been a Creative Consultant on the mini-series "Bloodletting and Other Miraculous Cures" for The Movie Network, and developed "The Listener" for NBC. Egan's other notable credits include Co-Executive Producer, Head Writer, and Showrunner on "Masters of Science Fiction" for ABC, an anthology series featuring a talented ensemble cast.
Egan is perhaps best known for his five seasons of work on Showtime/MGM's "The Outer Limits", where he served as showrunner/Executive Producer. He has also been a Creative Consultant on the Canadian series "ReGenesis", and Executive Producer on Showtime and MGM's "Jeremiah", starring Luke Perry and Malcolm Jamal-Warner.
Throughout his career, Egan has received numerous awards and nominations, including a Leo Award nomination in Canada for his writing on "Sanctuary". He has also won the Literacy in the Media Award for Outstanding Television Series for an episode of "Jeremiah", and was nominated for Canada's Top Ten Writing Awards for another episode of the series.
