Sam Kellman, a multifaceted filmmaker and immersive entertainment aficionado, hails from the vibrant city of Los Angeles. His passion for storytelling began at the tender age of four, when he picked up a trusty old tape camcorder to capture a cast of LEGO figures in action. As he grew older, Sam's creative endeavors evolved, and he started incorporating real actors into his projects.
Throughout his high school years at LACHSA, the renowned #1 performing arts high school in the United States, Sam honed his skills as a writer, director, and producer, crafting numerous shorts that would go on to garner awards and nominations at prestigious festivals such as Tribeca Festival, Moondance, WestFlix, NFFTY, Luminescence, Seattle International Film Festival, and the All American High School Film Festival, to name a few.
Beyond his work in film, Sam is also a skilled editor and visual effects artist, utilizing his talents to elevate his stories and bring his creative visions to life. In 2024, he graduated from Emerson College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Media Arts.
In addition to his work in the film industry, Sam has leveraged his Halloween home haunt, The Opechee Haunt, as a platform to showcase his enthusiasm for themed entertainment and develop his skills as an immersive storyteller. His impressive accomplishments include creating haunted attractions for the Hall of Shadows at the world's largest Halloween and horror convention, Midsummer Scream (2017, 2018, 2019),and being featured on panels at both Midsummer Scream (Next Generation Haunters: A New Breed of Terror, 2018) and ScareLA (New Blood, 2015).
Sam's passion for immersive storytelling has also led him to be profiled in SAGA Studios' 2018 documentary, Epic Home Haunts, which is currently available on Amazon Prime Video. He continues to push the boundaries of immersive entertainment by creating stand-alone experiences unrelated to Halloween.
In 2020, Sam founded his own independent production company, Inside the Box Productions, which has already collaborated with prominent brands such as Syfy, CBS, LEGO, and more. Inside the Box Productions is dedicated to producing film projects as well as immersive entertainment experiences, including the critically acclaimed 2022 immersive theatre production, Within Our Walls, and the 2023 immersive audio experience, SLEEPWALKR, which was featured at the 2023 Tribeca Festival in New York.
