New Orleans, a city that would become Sam Malone's home, was not the place he initially envisioned for his life. Hailing from Mississippi, Sam's journey took an unexpected turn as he pursued his passion for acting. With a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Performance from Louisiana State University, under the guidance of the late John Dennis, Sam's professional acting career began to take shape.
Breakout roles in HBO's 'Treme' and the award-winning series 'True Detective' showcased Sam's talent, while stage productions such as August Wilson's 'Jitney' and William Shakespeare's 'Titus Andronicus' demonstrated his range.
Pursuing further education, Sam obtained his Master's degree in Theatre with a concentration in Performance from the University of New Orleans.
Sam's recent credits include Academy Award-winning Director Barry Jenkins' critically acclaimed limited series 'The Underground Railroad' on Amazon Prime, where he played the leading guest star role of Moses. He also appeared in Netflix's #1 feature film 'Synchronic', alongside Anthony Mackie, and Showtime's Golden Globe-nominated limited series 'Your Honor', starring Bryan Cranston, in a recurring guest star role as Chris Cutler.
Other notable credits include the Imagen Award-winning series 'Queen of the South' as Slyvestre, Ryan Murphy's Award-winning series 'American Horror Story' as Detective Stiles, and a recurring guest starring role in the 24: Legacy TV series on FOX.
As Sam continues to explore new and exciting roles, his commitment to his craft remains unwavering, guiding him towards a bright and promising future.
Sam now studies the art and craft of acting with Diana Castle at the Imagined Life studios in Los Angeles, and is represented by agent Alexander White of Alexander White Agency.
In addition to his acting career, Sam dedicates time to community work, supporting local organizations through food drives and volunteering at homeless shelters in New Orleans. He is also committed to providing quality housing for those on government assistance and supports the local Children's Hospital in New Orleans.
