Sameh Alaa is a multifaceted Egyptian filmmaker with a strong presence in both Cairo and Brussels. His educational background is marked by a Bachelor's degree in German Literature, which laid the foundation for his future endeavors. To further hone his filmmaking skills, Sameh studied basic filmmaking techniques at the prestigious Academy of Cinema Arts and Technology for a period of two years.
Prior to his move to Europe, Sameh gained valuable experience as an Assistant Director in various commercials and feature films. His journey took a significant turn in 2012 when he relocated to Prague, the Czech Republic, to pursue his passion for directing at the renowned FAMU. After completing his diploma in just one year, Sameh went on to earn his Master's degree in EICAR Film School in Paris.
One of Sameh's most notable achievements is his graduation film, 'Le Steak De Tante Margaux', which showcases his exceptional storytelling abilities. In 2017, he made headlines by winning the European Short Film Pitch for his upcoming film set in Egypt. Sameh is currently busy finalizing the edit for an experimental short film, which is slated for release by the end of the year.
