Biography

Born on March 4th, 1988, Nagi, a Kenyan-American actor, spent his childhood summers in Kenya and returned to his motherland for a few years of high school at the historic Rift Valley Academy. His upbringing was a unique blend of Kenyan and American cultures, shaped by his parents' decision to move to the United States for higher learning.

Growing up in Columbia, South Carolina, Nagi began acting at Dutch Fork High School with his hometown friends. His drama teacher, Candice Williams, recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue acting further. Since his teenage years, Nagi has studied theatre, taking on lead roles in numerous school and community stage plays, which eventually landed him a talent agent at the age of 15.

In addition to his acting career, Nagi was also a talented athlete at Dutch Fork, playing football and basketball. His athletic background has likely contributed to his ability to perform his own stunts in some of his film roles.

Nagi's breakthrough role came in 2009 when he booked the part of 'Josh Gattis' in the 20th Century Fox movie, The 5th Quarter. The film was shot entirely at Wake Forest University and featured a strong cast, including Ryan Merriman, Aiden Quinn, and Andie MacDowell. Since then, he has appeared in other films, such as the 2020 civil war drama Emperor.

In addition to his film work, Nagi has also made appearances on television. He played the role of Craig Hansen in the BET series Games People Play and appeared in a season 5 episode of the action series NCIS: New Orleans on CBS.

One of his most recent projects is the Blumhouse vampire horror film Black as Night, which premieres on October 1st, 2021, and will be available on Amazon Prime Video worldwide. In the film, Nagi plays the role of Nigerian vampire Tunde, a character he trained and performed all of his own stunts for.

Nagi is represented by talent agents Brenda Netzberger at Open Range, Sheila Legette at SLE, and managed by David Koth at Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
