Sanjay Suri is a renowned Actor-Producer and National Award Winner, born and raised in the beautiful city of Srinagar, Kashmir, where he spent the first 20 years of his life. Throughout his illustrious career, Sanjay has been credited with an impressive 30 feature films as an actor and 7 feature films as a producer.
Sanjay's impressive filmography as an actor includes critically acclaimed films such as "Firaag", "Pinjar", "Daman", "Filhaal", "Dhoop", and trendsetting films like "Jhankaar Beats" and "My Brother Nikhil", which earned him widespread recognition and acclaim.
As a pioneer of Independent Cinema in India, Sanjay has been at the forefront of the current revolution, pushing the boundaries of storytelling and filmmaking. He independently starred in and produced the groundbreaking film "My Brother Nikhil", which won the prestigious National Award for Best Hindi Language Film as Producer in 2011.
Sanjay's other notable achievement is the production of "I AM", one of India's largest crowd-sourced films, which features 400 co-producers from over 40 cities across the world. This film democratized the film-making process and is considered a pioneer in Crowd Sourcing in India. "I AM" went on to win the NETPAC Award for Best in Asian Cinema with a Special Jury Mention at the 15th International Film Festival of Kerala 2012.
Sanjay has also acted in and produced the award-winning film "Chauranga" (Four Colors),which won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Feature at IFFLA 2015, Best Film at the Mumbai Film Festival (India Gold) 2014, Incredible India Award as the best project at Film Bazaar 2011, and the Goteborg International Script Development Fund. "Chauranga" was officially selected for various international film festivals, including Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF'2014),New York Indian Film Festival 2015, Goteborg International Film Festival 2016, Cinemasia Film Festival 2016, and London Asian Film Festival 2016.
In addition to his film work, Sanjay has participated in various international co-production markets and labs, including the Producers Network at the Marché du Film Festival de Cannes 2012 and 2013. He has also served as a jury member at MAMI (Mumbai Academy of Moving Images, 2012) and the Dubai International Film Festival (2013) feature category in the 'Muhr Arab' Section.
