Sara Kern is a multifaceted film director and writer of Slovenian-Australian descent, currently residing in Melbourne.
Her inaugural feature film, Moja & Vesna, a project supported by the prestigious Cannes' Cinéfondation Residence, had its world premiere at the 2022 Berlin International Film Festival.
Kern's earlier short film, Srecno, Orlo!, which debuted at the 2016 Venice International Film Festival, went on to receive widespread recognition and acclaim, screening at several prominent film festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, and Seattle International Film Festival.
Prior to her foray into feature filmmaking, Kern honed her craft through extensive studies in Film Directing at The Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television Ljubljana.
Before relocating to Australia, Kern spent several years working as a screenwriter for Television Slovenia Children and Youth Programme, further solidifying her expertise in the industry.
