Personal Details

Biography

Sarah, a renowned bereaved children and victims' rights campaigner, and one of the youngest authors in Irish history, was born in Ireland. Her life took a devastating turn when her mother tragically passed away when Sarah was just twelve weeks old. The family then relocated to the United States after her father remarried, leaving Sarah and her older brother Jack orphaned when their father, Jason Corbett, was brutally murdered by their stepmother, Molly Martens, and her father, Tom Martens, in August 2015. Sarah and Jack returned to Ireland to be raised by their father's sister, Tracey, and her husband, Dave.

This traumatic experience instilled in Sarah a burning desire to advocate for other bereaved children and victims' rights, as well as to support those affected by violent crime. She has been actively pursuing this mission in both the United States and Ireland. At the tender age of 13, Sarah penned an illustrated book, Noodle Loses Dad, to help children cope with bereavement and loss. Her book has since been adopted by children's rights groups, professionals, counselling services, and schools as a valuable teaching aid.

For her remarkable work, Sarah received a special National Garda Síochána award and a Limerick Young Person tribute. Hailing from Limerick, Sarah now resides in County Clare. Beyond her advocacy work, she is a talented singer, actor, and dancer. Sarah is also a qualified swim teacher and lifeguard, and in her free time, she enjoys snorkeling, surfing, and sea swimming.
