Sasha Mitchell is a multifaceted individual with a plethora of talents, including modeling, acting, and kick-boxing. He is perhaps most notably recognized for his dual roles in the 1990s. Firstly, he took over the lead role in the Kickboxer series from Jean-Claude Van Damme, starring in the fourth installment, Kickboxer 4: The Aggressor, in 1994. This iconic role was a culmination of his earlier success in the series, which spanned from 1990 to 1993.
As a skilled martial artist, Sasha holds a black belt in tae kwon do and was once an amateur kickboxing champion. This expertise landed him a role as a boxer in the 1988 film Spike of Bensonhurst. Furthermore, his impressive fighting skills and charisma earned him the role of Cody Lambert on the popular television series Step by Step, which he played from 1991 to 1996, and again in the final season in 1998.
Before embarking on his acting career, Sasha modeled exclusively for a year under the guidance of renowned fashion photographer Bruce Weber. He also honed his acting skills at the National Improvisational Theatre in New York City. Sasha's early television credits include his debut in the 1986 film Pleasures and his role as Ruggieri in the 1987 action thriller Death Before Dishonor.
In 1991, Sasha joined the soap opera Dallas as James Beaumont, the illegitimate son of J.R. Ewing, played by Larry Hagman. Following his departure from Dallas, he was chosen to replace Jean-Claude Van Damme as the lead character David Sloan in Kickboxer 2: The Road Back. The success of the film led to Sasha reprising his role in Kickboxer 3: The Art of War and Kickboxer 4.
In the same year, Sasha re-teamed with his Dallas co-star Patrick Duffy to play the role of Duffy's nephew, Cody Lambert, on the television show Step By Step. He played this character for seven years, appearing in 114 episodes. Sasha's return to films came in 2000 with the movie Gangland, directed by Art Camacho. After the cancellation of Step By Step, he went on to make guest appearances in various television shows, such as ER, JAG, and NYPD Blue, as well as films like L.A. Confidential, Abelar: Tales of an Ancient Empire, Cyborg Nemesis, City of Blood, and The Kickboxer: Empire of the Dead.
Today, Sasha is a proud father of four children and continues to work in the entertainment industry. He is also a skilled cook, certified welder, and fluent in Spanish.
