Scot McFadyen is a multi-talented individual, boasting a wide range of skills and accomplishments as a director, producer, music supervisor, and co-founder of Banger Films. Born in the city of Mississauga, Ontario, he initially pursued a creative writing degree at the University of Victoria.
In the 1990s, Scot took the leap and established his own theatre company, which he successfully ran on Vancouver Island. This venture ultimately led to him founding the largest music production company in the region.
Scot's debut feature documentary, Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, gained significant recognition, earning a Gemini Award for Best Writing in a Documentary. The film's impressive success enabled Scot to grow Banger Films into a renowned documentary filmmaking operation focused on music, with a reputation that spans the globe.
Throughout his career, Scot has accumulated numerous accolades, including several Juno Awards, festival awards, and a Grammy nomination. In 2013, he expanded Banger Films by launching B-Minors, a full-service kids' programming division.
In a remarkably short period, B-Minors has produced a diverse range of content that has aired worldwide, including The Grizzly Cup, Gaming Show (In My Parents' Garage),The Big Ticket Summer Concert Special, Savvy, and the Nintendo World Championships.
