Scotty Whitehurst, a talented individual with a strong background in the entertainment industry, was born in Laurel, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater from the University of Southern Mississippi, where he also honed his skills in screenwriting and participated in various student and independent film projects.
This early exposure to the film industry sparked Scotty's passion for acting, leading him to pursue a professional career in television and film. With over a decade of experience, he has appeared in several notable productions, including the movies "I Love You Phillip Morris" alongside Jim Carrey, "Jeff, Who Lives At Home" featuring Jason Segal and Ed Helms, and the TV movies "Pizza My Heart" and "Campus Confidential" for ABC Family, "For One Night" for Lifetime, "Worst. Prom. Ever." for MTV, "Impact Earth", and most recently, a guest role on "NCIS: New Orleans" and a supporting role in the movie "Kudzu Zombies".
In addition to his acting work, Scotty is also a skilled casting assistant for Morgan Casting, having contributed to the casting of several Hollywood films, including "Blackbird", "The Hollars", "Greater", "Shark Lake", "I Killed My BFF", "Dixieland", "Battlecreek", "Life At These Speeds", "Worry Dolls", "Sticky Notes", "The Historian", "Starve", "Big Significant Things", and "The Sound and the Fury" featuring James Franco. As a casting director, Scotty has worked on several short films, including "The Transfer", "What's Behind Door X", "The Goblin King", and "The Choice", as well as the feature film "Cagin of Chrysaint".
When not working in the entertainment industry, Scotty dedicates his time to teaching acting for film in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to learn from and be mentored by a variety of experienced acting coaches, casting directors, and directors, including Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next Generation),Cary Elwes (Princess Bride),Vic Mignogna (Fullmetal Alchemist),Richard Hatch (Battlestar Galactica),Jim Gleason, Ryan Glorioso, Heather Laird, Matthew Morgan, and many others.
