Selena Brown was born in Washington, District of Columbia, USA, to father Russell Brown, a dedicated janitor for a Washington newspaper company, and mother Audrey Brown, a retired sales associate with a proven track record of success. As the oldest of three children, Selena was joined by her sister, Shamieka Brown, and brother Russell Brown. Prior to embarking on an acting career, Selena entered the United States Army directly after high school, where she made a name for herself by being promoted to Sergeant within three years. Although initially considering a career in the military, Selena ultimately decided to leave the Army with an honorable discharge in September 2002.
Following her departure from the military, Selena was hired by an Information Technology company, where she gained valuable experience in computers and their operating systems. Concurrently, she pursued her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Management and Technology in Fairfax, Virginia, which she successfully completed in February 2006.
Selena Brown's passion for film, television, and theater was ignited by her love of watching theater performances and participating in local theater companies in the greater Baltimore-Washington area. Recognizing that this was her true calling, Selena made the bold decision to leave her comfortable routine behind and pursue her passion. In 2005, she auditioned for the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City and was subsequently accepted into the prestigious Studio Program, where she honed her skills in Film, Television, Theater, Acting Techniques, Improvisation, and other forms of acting.
Selena's dedication to her craft was so unwavering that she chose to relocate to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy's Los Angeles, California, location, where she currently resides. Since graduating, Selena has continued to refine her craft by completing various theatrical performances, including The Vagina Monologues, the Laramie Project, and commercial projects. In 2011, she wrote, directed, and produced her first short film, A Radio Drama Goodbye. In 2012, Selena completed her second short film, A Good Teacher, further solidifying her commitment to a fulfilling acting career.
