Semen Nikolaevich Serzin, a Russian actor of great renown, first set foot on the stage and screen on June 12, 1987, in the city of Murmansk, a bustling metropolis situated in the Arctic northwestern region of Russia.
Throughout his illustrious career, Serzin would go on to hone his craft at the prestigious St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts, a renowned institution of higher learning that has produced some of the most talented thespians in the country.
Under the watchful eye of the esteemed theatre expert V. M. Filshtinsky, Serzin would graduate from the academy in 2011, equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the competitive world of Russian theatre and film.
Following his academic achievement, Serzin assumed the position of chief director at the renowned Etude theater from 2013 to 2015, exemplifying his remarkable leadership abilities and expertly guiding the organization through a period of significant growth and development.
In addition to his responsibilities at the Etude theater, Serzin co-founded the innovative independent theatre association Invisible Theater in Saint Petersburg, showcasing his dedication to pioneering and unconventional artistic pursuits.
Not only is Serzin a skilled director, but he also possesses a remarkable range as an actor and instructor in the realm of theatre arts. His most notable performance to date is a documentary play, "Bashlachev. Sverdlovsk-Leningrad and Back", which was based on the works of esteemed authors Y. Pulinovich and P. Borodina.
Notwithstanding the initial obstacle, Serzin persisted in garnering accolades for his work. In the year 2014, he was honored with a nomination for the esteemed "Breakthrough Award". Furthermore, in 2019, he emerged victorious at the prestigious "Small Towns of Russia" festival, his outstanding performance in "Heart of a Dog" earning him top honors. Additionally, he secured the highest prize at the "Directing Lessons" festival in the same year, his exceptional work in the play "A Man from Podolsk" being widely recognized and celebrated.
