Seth Breedlove is a renowned Ohio-based filmmaker, renowned for his work as the founder and driving force behind the production company Small Town Monsters. Prior to his career in film, Breedlove honed his skills as a writer, working for various websites, newspapers, and magazines. His experience as a reporter also helped him develop essential skills that he now employs as a director.
Breedlove's passion project, Small Town Monsters, was conceived in 2013, with the aim of capturing authentic stories from forgotten communities and their experiences with cryptid sightings during the 1960s and 1970s. This unique concept allowed Breedlove to document cryptozoology by conducting interviews with original witnesses and re-creating elements of the cases at the grassroots level.
The first installment of the Small Town Monsters documentary series was Minerva Monster, released in 2015, which Breedlove wrote and directed. He has since worked on numerous projects under the Small Town Monsters umbrella, including Beast of Whitehall, Boggy Creek Monster, The Mothman of Point Pleasant, Invasion on Chestnut Ridge, The Flatwoods Monster: A Legacy of Fear, The Bray Road Beast, Terror in the Skies, and MOMO: The Missouri Monster.
In addition to his documentary work, Breedlove has also acted as cinematographer on some of his projects. He has collaborated with investigator and author Lyle Blackburn on several occasions, including the production of Boggy Creek Monster. Breedlove's work has also been featured on numerous television and radio programs.
In 2018, Breedlove launched an episodic series under the Small Town Monsters banner, titled "On the Trail of...", which he produced alongside his wife. The second season of the series focused on Bigfoot, and Breedlove directed, shot, and edited the episodes. His upcoming projects include directing The Mothman Legacy and The Mark of the Bell Witch, set to release in 2020.
