Fala Pratika, born a mere month after Indonesia's Reformation in 1998, embarked on a journey that would forever alter the trajectory of her life, discovering her innate affinity for the art of cinema during carefree childhood excursions to local video rental stores, where the magic of the silver screen first captivated her imagination.
As her fascination with the medium continued to grow, it wasn't long before she found herself driven to create her own cinematic masterpieces, culminating in the production of her inaugural short film in the year 2020, a project that served as a humble yet significant stepping stone in her burgeoning career as a filmmaker.
It was, however, her subsequent foray into documentary filmmaking that truly piqued her interest, as she became increasingly enthralled by the complex and multifaceted experiences of women in Indonesia, a fascination that ultimately led her to create her first documentary project, The Other Daughter, which, in 2023, had the distinction of participating in the esteemed IDOC LAB (Indonesia Documentary Lab),a prestigious event that marked a pivotal moment in her professional development, serving as a testament to her unwavering dedication to her craft.
