Shaun Chad Smit's life story commenced in Pretoria, South Africa's capital city, where he embarked on a Musical Theatre journey at Tshwane University of Technology following the completion of his high school education. This marked the beginning of his professional acting career, which kicked off with Henry Mylne's theatre production of VASELINETJIE at Aardklop and Woordfees.
After a brief interlude, Shaun returned to the spotlight, seizing the opportunity to showcase his talents in Terence Makapan's theatrical production of the drama BENJI, which was showcased at the esteemed National Art Festival, held in the vibrant city of Makhanda.
Shaun's impressive repertoire extends beyond the realm of theatre, as he has also made notable appearances in a variety of TV and film productions. Some of his notable credits include the American television series "Blood Drive" which aired on SyFy, as well as the critically acclaimed Netflix series "Black Mirror". Furthermore, he has worked on several film projects, such as "How to Rob a Bank" produced by Antenna Pictures. His extensive list of credits also includes several South African productions, including "Erfsonders" which aired on SABC2, "Die Spreeus" on KykNET, "Lui Maar Op, Belinda" also on KykNET, and "Kloof" on KykNET.
Throughout the course of the past few years, Shaun has embarked on a multifaceted journey within the realm of the film industry, donning various hats as a cinematographer, colourist, and film editor for an array of esteemed companies, including Afterdark Post Production, Red Blur, and Wyrd Films.
As he delved deeper into this realm, Shaun's innate passion for acting continued to remain his first and foremost love, yet, he found himself embracing the diverse opportunities that arose, allowing his perspective as both an actor and creator to expand and flourish.
