Shaun Majumder, a performer from rural Newfoundland, Canada, has been entertaining audiences for as long as he can remember. Born and raised in Burlington, a small town with a population of 350, Shaun's passion for acting began to unfold at the tender age of thirteen when he moved to Mississauga, Ontario. It was during his eighth-grade year that he acted in his first stage play, and he was instantly hooked.
Throughout his high school years, Shaun continued to pursue his love for theatre, winning numerous awards for his performances at various festivals. However, the adults around him, including his teachers, believed that acting was not a viable career path. Consequently, Shaun followed their advice and attended university, hoping to discover his true calling.
After a year of partying and taking general arts classes, Shaun realized that his true passion lay in acting. He abandoned his safety net and took the plunge, determined to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry.
Shaun's early success as a stand-up comedian and host led to him landing his first gigs with YTV, Canada's Nickelodeon, as a host and presenter for five years. He also appeared in CBC's Just For Laughs comedy series. As his career progressed, he began to book small roles in film and television, and in 2003, he joined the cast of CBC's This Hour Has 22 Minutes, a position he held for an impressive seventeen seasons.
Over the past twenty-plus years, Shaun has enjoyed success on both sides of the border. Some of his notable performances include his role as Detective Vik Mahajan in the critically acclaimed crime drama Detroit 1-8-7, Andrew Palmer in The Firm, and Hassan Numair in 24. He has also appeared in various comedy series, such as Cedric The Entertainer Presents, Unhitched, Married Not Dead, Nevermind Nirvana, and Hatching Matching and Dispatching.
Currently, Shaun stars alongside Harold Perrineau, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Eion Bailey in the EPIX Sci-Fi/Horror series FROM, playing the role of Father Khatri.
Shaun resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Shelby Fenner, and their two daughters, Mattis Maple and Eslyn Willow, as well as their two Boston terriers, Jazzy and Freddy.
