Shelagh was born in Vancouver, a city located in the province of British Columbia, Canada, and relocated to England when she was just six years old. This significant move marked the beginning of a journey that would shape her future in the world of acting and filmmaking.
After completing her training as an actress, Shelagh landed a starring role in Dennis Potter's critically acclaimed television series, "Cream In My Coffee," which won the prestigious Prix Italia award. She then relocated to Toronto, followed by a move to Los Angeles, where she continued to hone her craft by appearing in various television series, films, and stage productions.
Shelagh's impressive resume includes a stint at the renowned Stratford Festival in Canada, where she showcased her talents alongside other accomplished actors. She later returned to England to play the iconic role of Dr. Kate Webster in the popular television series "Peak Practice" for several series.
In addition to her acting career, Shelagh is also a talented writer and filmmaker. She completed a three-year Bachelor of Arts program in film and screenwriting at Kingston University, where she produced two award-winning short films, "RUN" and "David Rose." These films have received widespread recognition, including nominations for best short film at several international film festivals.
Shelagh's academic pursuits did not stop there. She went on to earn a Master's degree in Creative Writing, graduating with distinction in 2015. Principal photography for the film was completed in 2018, and it was produced by Jessica Adams and Sean Buckley. Filming took place in Hamilton, Ontario, and Toronto.
Shelagh's second screenplay, "Nexus," was shortlisted for the Sundance Screenwriter's Lab and chosen for the prestigious Writers Lab 2018, which is supported by esteemed actresses Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman.
