Born to two educators, a chemistry teacher and a band teacher, Shelby was encouraged to explore her creative and athletic talents from a young age. Her father, who also served as her coach, played a significant role in her development, nurturing her skills in both music and sports.
Shelby's academic pursuits took her to Michigan State University, where she earned degrees in Acting and Media & Information. During her time at the university, she leveraged her natural athleticism to excel in stage combat, ultimately earning the distinction of actor combatant from the Society of American Fight Directors.
In addition to her acting career, Shelby is a freelance photographer, having had the opportunity to work with esteemed institutions such as The Public and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Her experience behind the camera has instilled in her a strong sense of professionalism, making her a valuable asset to any production.
Shelby's television debut took place in Season 3 of Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and she has since appeared in the popular series FBI, playing the role of Denise Mamet. Her film credits include a supporting role in the Sundance-premiered feature film Dinner in America.
