Shelby Leverington, a talented actress born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, pursued her passion for acting after graduating from Southeast Missouri State University in 1968. She made the bold move to New York City, where she discovered Milton Katselas' scene study class, which had a profound impact on her decision to become a professional actor.
In New York, she crossed paths with several New York University film students, leading to opportunities to act in their films. This ultimately resulted in her collaboration with Alec Hirschfeld and Mitch Block on the Emmy Award-winning film, "No Lies". The film's success was a significant turning point in her career, earning her an agent and recognition in the industry.
Fast-forward to 2008, when "No Lies" was selected for the National Film Registry, a prestigious honor bestowed upon only 500 American films. This achievement marked a milestone in her career, solidifying her position as a respected actress in the industry.
For over three decades, Shelby has continued to hone her craft, performing in a wide range of film, television, and commercial projects. She has had the privilege of working with some of the most renowned directors in the industry, including Blake Edwards, Walter Hill, Martin Brest, Martha Coolidge, Michael Landon, Lesli Linka Glatter, John Pasquin, Diane Keaton, Robert Wuhl, Jonathan Kaplan, Chris Chulack, Joseph Sargent, Andrew Bernstein, Michael Bay, Matthew Penn, and Hugh Wilson.
