Sheldon A. Smith is an emerging talent in the entertainment industry, making a notable feature film debut as Warren G. in Straight Outta Compton, a Universal Studios production spearheaded by renowned figures Dr. Dre and Ice Cube. As an accomplished actor-producer with his own production company, Deadfish Productions, Sheldon has garnered the attention of esteemed Director F. Gary Gray.
In 2011, Sheldon co-produced and starred in the widely-distributed short film Brotherly Love, which garnered the Best Short Film award at the 2012 San Diego Black Film Festival. This film holds a special significance in Sheldon's life and career, as he dedicated himself to the project following the loss of his older brother in a fatal car accident. Sheldon played a pivotal role in the film's production, utilizing Deadfish Productions to secure financing and showcasing unwavering dedication to his craft.
Sheldon teamed up with Director Choice Skinner and Darkan Entertainment to explore his darker side, producing and acting in the faith-based drama Keep the Faith in 2015.
Continuously striving to create new art, Sheldon is already preparing to produce and star in his second feature film, Man in the Truck, set to begin production this October.
Born in Pasadena, California, Sheldon attended Gardena High School and El Camino Compton College. During his school years, he played basketball alongside some of the current NBA's top players. After receiving multiple athletic-scholarship offers to play basketball in different states, Sheldon opted to stay in Los Angeles to pursue his true passion in acting.
Sheldon has undergone extensive training under the guidance of Choice Skinner and currently trains with acting coach Bobbie Chance at Expressions Unlimited. His younger brother, Shamari Berkley, is a child actor who has transitioned to become Socialite Shamari Maurice.
