Sherie Rene Scott is a multi-talented individual who has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry as an actor, singer, writer, and producer. Her extensive career has spanned numerous Broadway and off-Broadway plays and musicals, with her voice featured on many solo and Grammy Award-winning original cast recordings.
Scott has also appeared in several film and television roles, showcasing her versatility and range as a performer. In addition to her work on stage and screen, Scott founded the multiple Grammy Award-winning independent Broadway record label, Sh-K-Boom/ Ghostlight Records, which was honored with a Drama Desk Award for its contributions to musical theater.
As a writer, Scott has co-authored several critically acclaimed productions, including the Tony award-nominated 'Everyday Rapture' and 'Whorl Inside A Loop', as well as the New York Times and New York Magazine's 'Best of the Year' productions 'Piece Of Meat' and 'Twohander', which she performed with Todd Almond.
Scott's impressive credits include 'Whorl Inside A Loop', where she co-authored and acted, at Second Stage; 'Everyday Rapture', which earned her three Tony nominations and a Lucille Lortel nomination; 'Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown', for which she received a Drama Desk nomination; John Guare's 'Landscape Of The Body', winner of Obie and Lucille Lortel Awards for Best Actress; 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels', for which she received Tony and Drama Desk nominations for Best Actress, as well as an Outer Critics nomination; 'The Little Mermaid', earning an Outer Critics nomination; Elton John & Tim Rice's 'Aida', winning the Derwent Award; Randy Newman's 'Faust'; Kander & Ebb's 'Over and Over'; The Who's 'Tommy', for which she was part of the original cast; 'The Front Page' with John Goodman & Nathan Lane; and 'The Portuguese Kid', written and directed by John Patrick Shanley.
