Sheril, a multifaceted and dynamic actor, singer, and songwriter, was born at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by a large Hispanic family that would later influence her work in films, theater, and music.
During her college years, Sheril refined her comedic timing and improvisational skills through musical theater, laying the groundwork for her versatility as a performer.
As a singer/songwriter, Sheril's crowning achievement was touring and providing backing vocals for the legendary Country music artist Merle Haggard, with whom she co-wrote the hit single "Let's Chase Each Other Around the Room Tonight," earning her a BMI Millionaire award.
Throughout her music career, Sheril has performed across various genres and continues to write and produce a wide range of musical pieces.
In 1984, Sheril founded COWTOWN SOUND PUBLISHING to publish her own material, and in 2009, she created COWTOWN SOUND PRODUCTIONS, a collaborative effort with talented filmmakers focused on producing content for television and film.
As a screenwriter, producer, and costume designer, Sheril has worked on numerous award-winning short films, music videos, and public service announcements, including "Carter High," "Jerico," and the western film "Corsican," for which she collaborated with designer Stacey Leigh, resulting in a wardrobe collection of approximately 7,000 costumes.
Inspired by her sister, Malinda Guerrero Castoreno, an award-winning author of the "Thru My Eyes" novels, Sheril is nearing the completion of her first book of poetry, which will feature many of her published songs.
