Shiboprosad Mukherjee is a renowned Indian Bengali filmmaker, actor, and screenwriter, who, along with his directorial partner Nandita Roy, has achieved immense success in the Bengali film industry.
Born on May 20th in Baranagar, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, Shiboprosad Mukherjee attended the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Baranagar Mission, and later pursued his high school education from Hindu School. He then went on to graduate in Political Science Honours from Jadavpur University.
After completing his high school education, Shiboprosad Mukherjee joined a theatre group as a trainer and was part of the T.I.E. Project (Theater in Education) under the guidance of Rudra Prasad Sengupta. He also attended a workshop conducted by Ibrahim Alkazi. During his acting days, he worked as a freelance journalist in 'Anandalok' magazine, guided by Rituporno Ghosh.
Shiboprosad Mukherjee started his acting career in television serials such as Ekushe Pa, Ghoom Nei, and Janmabhoomi, before getting his first acting career break in the year 1995 in the serial "Ekushe Pa" directed by Raja Dasgupta for Zee Bangla.
He has been associated with ETV Bangla, a 24-hour regional satellite channel of Eenadu Group, right from its inception. As a senior programming associate at ETV Bangla from 1999 to 2002, he was responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and producing 6 hours of original programming daily. He designed more than 50 non-fiction shows for Bengali television, conceptualized the first Bengali women's magazine programs on television - 'Sreemoti', and launched the first reality show format in Bengali television - Ritur Mela Jhoom Tara Ra Ra.
Shiboprosad Mukherjee then started his own company, Windows Productions, along with his partner Nandita Roy. Together, they produced many non-fiction and fiction programs, making them one of the most successful director duos in Bengali cinema.
