Throughout her career, Baumane has garnered an impressive array of accolades for her work, including 16 award-winning animated shorts, which have showcased her exceptional storytelling abilities and artistic prowess.
Her debut animated feature, "Rocks in my Pockets", is a deeply personal and poignant exploration of the 100-year history of depression and suicide within her own family, including her own experiences. This powerful film premiered at the prestigious Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2014, where it received the FIPRESCI Award, and went on to be showcased at over 130 international festivals before opening theatrically in the United States through Zeitgeist Films.
Baumane's latest animated feature, "My Love Affair With Marriage", is a visually stunning and innovative work that combines animation with music, theater, science, photography, three-dimensional sets, and traditional hand-drawn animation to tell the story of a spirited young woman's quest for perfect love and lasting marriage. This captivating film premiered at the Tribeca Festival in 2022.
